Cheek implants can be used to augment the flattened appearance of the cheek bones. Chin implants correct a weak chin line to improve the facial profile. Implants can also be used to fill in the hollowed area below the cheeks that exist in some people as they age and in a condition known as lipodystrophy.
There is generally some swelling over the area, but this begins to go down after about two to three days. The recovery period involved is about one week.
