This procedure can improve the appearance of the entire face. When difficulty in breathing is also present, straightening of the septum (septoplasty) can be done in conjunction with rhinoplasty.

There is generally some swelling after the procedure, and there may be some bruising under the eyes as well. Most of the swelling and bruising is normally gone within one week.
