Different types of lasers can be used to remove vascular lesions on the skin and to remove tattoos. There are also lasers that can be used to remove hair. All of these procedures can be easily done in the office.
The most common vascular lesions removed by a laser are spider veins and port wine stain birthmarks. Most spider veins on the face can be removed in only one treatment. Port wine stains may take more than one treatment.
Tattoos frequently require more than one treatment to remove them, but most people will get some lightening of the tattoo after only one treatment.
Laser hair removal can be very effective, but usually requires multiple treatments to get the best results. Most people will see a decrease in the hair growth after only one treatment though.
Bleaching Creams
Prescription creams can be used to treat darkened areas or spots of the face.
